2012 Dear Brothers and Sisters, Last week we met with the company to determine what the schedule for the Liberty would be over the next 6 months until we build out. With the number of vehicles that marketing is requesting the company must utilize the "Incremental Overtime Scheduling Provisions" in the Collective Bargaining Agreement which allows for 100 additional hours of overtime above the current schedule. We are still having issues on the number of engines that are available to us, and that is why the schedule for February and March are not maximized with full overtime. For February, we will work the following Saturdays: Feb. 4th, 11th and 25th. The current plan is to work 8 hours on both Fridays and Saturdays due to engine availability. For March, we will work the Saturday dates of March 3rd, 17th and the 24th. Those are planned to be 8 hour Saturdays but 10 hour Fridays. In the month of April, the first week will be 4/10's due to April 6th being Good Friday. The Saturdays in April will be 14th and the 21st. Fridays will be 10 hours as well. For the month of May the Saturdays will be the 5th and the 12th, with the Fridays being 10 hours. Monday, May 28th will be Memorial Day. Currently they are not scheduling Friday, May 25th at this time. For June the Saturdays will be June 2nd, 16th and the 23rd. All Fridays will be 10 hours. Finally for the month of July the only Saturday in the schedule is the 14th at this time. Both Wrangler and Liberty will be down on July 19th and 20th for tank cleaning at the complex. The weeks of July 23rd and July 30th are scheduled to be 4/10's with the last day of the Liberty production being August 2nd, 2012. The Liberty line will then be down for the rest of the year (5 months) for retooling for the new KL. We will be bidding jobs in each department to put together our launch teams which will be working thru the down time. There are no vacation shutdown periods planned for either Liberty or Wrangler this year. The Wrangler line will continue with their current schedule of 10 hour days with 2 out of 3 Saturdays per month. The union is currently reviewing all Wrangler man assignments to ensure line speed increases do not put any jobs over-cycled. We will be adding jobs to the line to accommodate the additional units we will be building. On another announcement Mr. Pino will be leaving his assignment as our plant manager. He will be taking on a new role as the head of WCM for Nafta. We wish Mr. Pino well and lots of success in his new role and thank him for his leadership and help in making our plant attractive for the investments coming with the new KL. But more importantly thank him for recognizing and supporting the men and women on the shop floor for who they are, and what they do every day to move Toledo Jeep forward. Zach Leroux will be replacing him as our new complex manager. Cathy Staelgraeve will be replacing Zach as the new center manager of Wrangler. Waleed Almarayati will replace Cathy as our new WCM champion for the complex. We as a workforce will continue to move forward as we always do showing our pride and commitment to always being the best work force in the industry. Please continue to treat each other with dignity and respect. |
